Auf da ander’n Seit’n
A gifted word juggler with musicians that can only be found in Vienna – growing up between Jimi Hendrix and Schmalzbrot!
The new concert programme ‘AUF DA ANDERN SEITN’ tells of the melting pot that is Vienna by the dazzling Danube, of native Viennese and immigrants and of ‘real’ music, however it may sound. Wolfram Berger devotes himself entirely to his love of playing in the cosmos of different linguistic forms and onomatopoeias and adds his two cents to the adventurous music of the ensemble ‘Zur Eisernen Zeit’.’
The musicians combine influences from jazz, classical tradition and modernity in their playing. They interpret works from the songbooks of Franz Schubert, Hans Moser, Arnold Schönberg and Joe Zawinul in a unique way. Having grown up with Jimi Hendrix, Charlie Parker, Schrammelmusik and Musikantenstadl, they are representatives of a style that can only be heard in Vienna.
Wolfram Berger, born in Graz and trained as a Viennese, enjoys playing in the cosmos of different linguistic forms and onomatopoeia. His repertoire ranges from H.C. Artmann and Ernst Jandl to Konrad Bayer and Friedrich Achleitner. With his irrepressible love of the microphone and his desire to interpret, he adds a special flavour to the adventurous music of the ensemble ‘Zur Eisernen Zeit’. No eye or throat remains dry.
