Maxjoseph
The easy stuff is the hardest – violin, Styrian harmonica, guitar and tuba – four virtuoso musicians weave a dynamic chamber music tapestry that blossoms with an elegance and lightness one would not expect in the context of folk music.
Jazz shimmers in the improvisations, classical training in the flawless interplay, and the wide horizons of four cosmopolitans who are at the same time quite naturally rooted in their homeland in the manifold echoes. This music defies any simple classification and creates a delightful confusion for the listener.
Maxjoseph’s music is not only a synthesis of serious and popular music, of old and new, of folk music and classical music – it is an invitation to a dialogue in which boundaries blur and yet one always remains grounded, rooted in one’s homeland.
Maxjoseph are:
Georg Unterholzner – guitar
Andreas Winkler – Styrian harmonica
Nathanael Turban – violin
Florian Mayrhofer – tuba
