Maria Radutu – PIANOBOX

The liberation of classical music.

The Austrian-Romanian pianist Maria Radutu opens the doors to experiencing classical music as a form of free interpretation. The artist selects a theme as a guiding motif from a constantly growing collection of composers in order to constantly redesign her programmes. Radutu moderates the evening, in which she talks about her approach to interpreting these works and thus invites the audience to experience her subjective perspective on classical music. She finds new connections across styles and periods to dramaturgically link works together. With brilliance and great feeling in the interplay between piano and presentation, Radutu is bold and unconventional.

The ever-growing repertoire currently comprises 50 works with influences from different styles, with well-known classics and lesser-played gems or specially composed works.

Selection of composers: Glück, Scarlatti, Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Liszt, Faure, Satie, Poulenc, Scriabin, Rachmaninov, Ravel, Bartok, Stravinsky, Vasks, Shostakovich, Gershwin, Villa-Lobos, Piazzolla, Ligeti, Kapustin, Pärt, Annau Karlsson, Ferek-Petric.
