Brasileto – Thomas Gansch & Alegre Corrêa

Alegre Corrêa is certainly no stranger to this country. The Grammy award-winner lived in Vienna for many years and, as the spearhead of the Brazilian community, introduced many musicians to the local scene. Izabel Padovani, Ronaldo Saggiorato and Endrigo Bettega are three of the most extraordinary representatives of this highly musical guild that I had the privilege of playing with back then. Since their departure back home, I have sorely missed these musical giants. That’s why I’d like to bring them back across the Atlantic and, together with them and the incredible Florian Trübsbach on saxophone, lead a South American-Viennese band that knows all the tricks of the trade and will thrill the audience.

Brasileto is the name given to a musical form with a specific chord progression that occurs many times in Brazilian music. We musicians also call it Brasil Blues. Under this title, together with old and new friends from Latin America, I will put together an exclusive program that should make it as difficult as possible for the audience to sit still.
